After a bit more than 10 years on Radio K, Out of Step will be leaving the station and moving on to the web as a podcast.
It has been a great run, but the time to move on has come. Radio K has always been a student station and will continue to be one. I (along with most of the other hosts) have been lucky enough to be able to stay on long after graduation and bring you the best in punk rock, guests and other stuff. Radio K is now moving to be a full on student station and we are making room for that. Thanks to everyone at Radio K who has allowed us to keep playing punk, hardcore, garage, and more every single week.
More than anything else, I want to give thanks especially to every single person who has been a part of the show, whether you are a listener, a donor, a caller, a guest, a band or whatever. It is all appreciated and is seriously what keeps me coming in every week. In the 7 years after taking on the show, I have tried very hard to have the show be more than just a place for me to play my records. I have always wanted it to be a place for the whole punk community to come in and play live, spin records, or promote events. That will all still be happening, just not as a live radio show.
The last show on Radio K will be on June 26th, but the first podcast will be released the following Sunday so you wont miss a week of the best in punk, hardcore, garage and more! I am working on sorting out the details of the feed, hosting etc. and will have updates on that soon. Stay tuned to this page (Subscribe via RSS!), Facebook & Twitter to be sure to be keeping up on everything. I am very excited for the benefits and freedom that podcasting will give us for the show and for the next era in the show.
In summation: Out of Step will keep on a rockin' on Radio K until June 26th and will be podcasting after that. I cannot begin to express the gratitude I have for the listeners, bands, guests, and whole punk community who have made this show possible so far. So, THANKS a fucking million for all the support and I hope you join us on the podcast.
When god closes a door, Satan opens another. MORE GRINDCORE!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely. The FCC can't find us here so we can say whatever we want. Finally, I can discuss my thoughts on the Lizard people, 9/11 being an inside job, and the Illuminati without fear of government reprisal!
